The path climbs onto an arched wooden bridge over the narrow water between the two ponds and pauses at its crown, looking down the length of the main pond.
Along the north shore, behind a monk sitting in meditation on a flat stone, the view settles over his shoulder onto the still water he is facing.
Over a granite slab across the stream and up the hillside beside the bamboo, a last, higher view back across the whole garden.
